Description
Aberfeldy is a Highland single malt distillery in Perthshire, founded in 1898 by the Dewar family and a key contributor to the Dewar's blends. The distillery draws water from the Pitilie Burn, and its single malts are known for a rich honeyed character. This 20 year old is a mature expression of that house style.
The nose offers honey, dried fruit and gentle spice, with a touch of oak. The palate is round and smooth, with toffee, baked apple and subtle chocolate, finishing long and warm with soft oak spice.
Pour it neat in a tulip glass, with a small drop of water if desired. It suits slow evenings and gifting to fans of Highland malts. It also pairs well with dark chocolate or a mild blue cheese.
