Description
Ancient Age is a Kentucky bourbon made at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, a name that has been held in high regard since 1946. This 1L bottle is a good value pour.
Expect caramel, vanilla and light oak on the nose, a smooth, easy palate with a little spice and a short, warm finish. With a drop of water the aromas open up further and the texture softens, so it rewards a slow pour and a clean tulip or Glencairn glass.
It is a good everyday bourbon for mixing into an Old Fashioned, whiskey sour or highball with cola. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, and pour it at room temperature to get the full range of aromas.
