Description
Auchentoshan is a Lowland distillery famous for triple distillation, a process that yields a lighter, cleaner and more delicate spirit than most Scotch malts. This 12 year old is the core expression of the house, bottled at 80 proof, and is often recommended as a gentle introduction to single malt.
The nose is bright with citrus, honey and a little nuttiness. The palate is smooth and light, with orange zest, toasted almond and soft malt sweetness, ending in a clean, gently warming finish.
Serve it neat, over ice or with a splash of water. Its easy character also makes it a good choice for a highball with soda and a lemon twist. Its light body also pairs well with seafood, salads and soft cheeses, which makes it versatile at the table.
