Description
Auchentoshan Three Wood is a Lowland single malt Scotch whisky from the Auchentoshan distillery near Glasgow, which is known for triple distillation. It is matured in three types of cask: American bourbon, Spanish oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximenez sherry.
Expect dark fruit, toffee and spice on the nose, a rich, smooth palate with orange peel and a long, warm finish. With a drop of water the aromas open up further and the texture softens, so it rewards a slow pour and a clean tulip or Glencairn glass.
Sip it neat or with a few drops of water. It pairs well with dark chocolate and nuts. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, and pour it at room temperature to get the full range of aromas.
