Description
Beaujolais Nouveau is a young red wine from the Beaujolais region of France, made from Gamay and released just weeks after harvest. It is traditionally released on the third Thursday of November.
The wine is light and fruity, with fresh cherry, raspberry and banana notes, soft tannins and a bright, juicy finish. It is meant to be drunk young.
Serve slightly chilled with roast turkey, charcuterie, cheese or holiday meals. It pairs easily with light dishes, from salads and seafood to creamy pasta and soft cheeses. A medium glass with a slight taper keeps the aromas concentrated. Serve at about 45 to 50 F, chilled but not ice cold, so the aromas stay lively.
