Description
Beaujolais-Villages is a light, fruity French red from the Beaujolais-Villages appellation, made from the Gamay grape.
It shows bright cherry, raspberry and floral notes with soft tannins and a fresh finish.
Serve slightly chilled with roast chicken, charcuterie, salmon or soft cheeses. Pair it with hearty dishes such as grilled meats, pasta in tomato sauce or a cheese board. A large, rounded glass lets the wine open up and shows off its aromas. Serve at about 60 to 65 F and open the bottle 15 to 30 minutes ahead so the aromas can develop. Red wine is at its best with food, and a short rest in the glass helps soften the tannins.
