Description
Benriach Malting Season is a 2009-vintage single cask peated single malt, matured for 12 years in an ex-port pipe before being bottled in 2021. Benriach is a Speyside distillery, and this cask-specific release is a limited, collectible bottling.
The palate offers black cherries, dates, rich espresso and dark chocolate ganache, with gentle peat and a long finish where those flavors linger. Specific flavors can vary by batch and bottling, so treat these notes as a guide to the style rather than a fixed profile.
Sip neat or with a few drops of water to open up the aromas; a tulip-shaped glass at room temperature is ideal. It pairs well with dark chocolate, nuts and mature cheese. Because it is a single-cask release, bottle characteristics can vary slightly.
