Description
Benromach is a small, traditional Speyside distillery in Forres, and its 10 Year Old single malt is the brand's classic expression. It offers a gently smoky style that sits between the lighter and heavier ends of Speyside.
The nose shows toffee and butterscotch with hints of liquorice and green apple. On the palate, liquorice and green apple continue, joined by maltiness, smoke and spicy cardamom and white pepper. The finish is warming, with fruit and spice slowly fading to a malty smokiness.
Sip neat or with a few drops of water to open up the aromas; a tulip-shaped glass at room temperature is ideal. It pairs well with dark chocolate, nuts and mature cheese.
