Description
Bowmore is the oldest legal distillery on Islay, founded in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal, where its famous No.1 Vaults age whisky below sea level. The 18 Year Old is matured in a marriage of bourbon and sherry casks, bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV), showcasing the distillery's signature balance of gentle peat smoke and rich sherry sweetness.
Expect dark chocolate and toffee on the nose, coffee and dried fruit on the palate, and a long, warming finish with just enough smoke to remind you it's from Islay. A well-rounded introduction to Bowmore's house style.
Sip neat or with a few drops of water to open up the aromas; a tulip-shaped glass at room temperature is ideal. It pairs well with dark chocolate, nuts and mature cheese.
