Description
Brugal Añejo is a Dominican rum aged in oak, a mainstay brand of the Dominican Republic.
Expect caramel, brown sugar and toasted oak on the nose, a smooth, medium-bodied palate with butterscotch notes, and a warm, lingering finish. Extended barrel aging typically rounds off the rough edges of rum and layers in baking spice, caramel and toasted wood.
Mix it with cola or ginger beer, or serve it over ice. Pour it neat or over a single large cube so you can taste how it evolves, and consider pairing it with dark chocolate or a good cigar. It makes a fine gift for rum drinkers and works well as a step up from everyday sipping rums. The 1.75L handle is built for parties and well-stocked home bars.
