Description
Burning Chair is a 4 year straight Indiana bourbon from Savage & Cooke, finished in California Cabernet barrels. The wine-barrel finish adds an extra layer of fruit to the bourbon.
Expect caramel, vanilla and toasted oak with dark-fruit and red-wine notes from the finishing barrels, and a warm, lingering finish. Bourbon must be made from at least 51 percent corn and aged in new charred oak, which is where its sweetness and vanilla character come from.
Serve neat or over a large cube to appreciate the grain and oak, or use it in an Old Fashioned, Manhattan or Whiskey Sour. It pairs well with smoked meats, dark chocolate and aged cheeses.
