Description
Cardhu is a Speyside distillery with a long history, associated with Elizabeth Cumming, who ran the operation in the nineteenth century and helped build its reputation. Its single malts are known for a smooth, soft and approachable character. This 16 year old offers extra maturity to that style.
The nose shows honey, dried fruit and gentle spice. On the palate, the texture is smooth and velvety, with sweet malt, ripe fruit and a touch of spice. The finish is warm and moderately long.
Serve neat or with a few drops of water. It is a good choice for those who like a soft Speyside malt, and for gifting to a whisky fan. Its soft texture also pairs well with fruit and nut desserts or mild cheeses.
