Description
Cragganmore is a Speyside distillery with a reputation for complex, layered malts. This 20 year old is a small batch release matured in refill and new charred American oak hogsheads, and is bottled at natural cask strength, 111.6 proof.
The aroma is mellow and deeply wooded, with pear and Ogen melon over soft notes of leather and sanded wood. The palate is creamy and smooth, with rich sweetness balanced by a savory, drying mid-palate. The finish is long, velvety and spiced with a hint of chili.
Serve it in a traditional whisky glass with a dash of water to temper the strength and open the aromas. It also works as a thoughtful gift for a collector or for someone marking a milestone.
