Description
Cynar is an Italian bitter liqueur (amaro) made from 13 herbs and plants, including artichoke, giving it a rich, earthy and bittersweet flavor. It is a great starting point for those new to amaro.
Expect dark herbs, caramel and a hint of vegetal earthiness on the nose, a bittersweet palate and a long, lightly bitter finish. It is a classic bittersweet style, enjoyed both before dinner to open the appetite and after dinner as a digestif.
Serve it over ice with soda and an orange slice, or in a Negroni variation. Serve it cool, and garnish with a citrus peel for added aroma. The 1L bottle suits home bars and entertaining.
