Description
Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is a Venezuelan sipping rum from Diplomático, aged up to 12 years.
Expect notes of brown sugar, orange peel, cocoa and vanilla, a rich, smooth palate with dried fruit, and a long, sweet finish. Extended barrel aging typically rounds off the rough edges of rum and layers in baking spice, caramel and toasted wood.
Sip it neat or over a large cube, or use it in an old-fashioned. Sip it slowly, with a few drops of water if you like, and pair it with dark chocolate, nuts, or aged cheese. It makes a fine gift for rum drinkers and works well as a step up from everyday sipping rums.
