Description
Domaine du Castel is among Israel's best-known boutique wineries. This kosher Bordeaux-style red layers blackcurrant, cassis and fine oak with firm, elegant tannins. Blends allow a winemaker to combine the strengths of several grapes, building a wine with more complexity and balance than a single variety might offer.
A red blend of this sort usually combines ripe dark fruit such as plum, cherry and blackberry with spice and a touch of oak, finishing smooth and balanced with moderate tannins.
Serve at around 60-65°F with grilled meats, pasta, roasted vegetables or a cheese platter. A short breathing time in the glass can help the flavors come together. This wine is kosher.
