Description
Dominus is a Napa Valley estate, and this 2018 Napa Valley Red is its Cabernet Sauvignon-led Bordeaux-style blend. It is a collectible, age-worthy red from one of California's most respected addresses. Cabernet Sauvignon is the world's most planted red grape, prized for its deep color, structure and ability to carry oak and age gracefully in the bottle.
Cabernet Sauvignon of this kind is usually built around dark berry fruit, cassis and plum, framed by hints of vanilla, tobacco and toasted oak. The structure is firm, with tannins that give grip and a persistent finish.
Pour it slightly below room temperature alongside burgers, braised short ribs, mushroom dishes or a hearty pasta with red sauce. Younger bottles benefit from a short decant, while a few more years in the cellar can soften the tannins further.
