Description
Don Julio Reposado is an oak-rested reposado tequila from Don Julio, the Jalisco house founded by Don Julio González in 1942. A reposado is rested in oak for a period of two to twelve months, which softens the spirit and adds gentle wood character without hiding the agave. The 50ml mini is handy for sampling before committing to a full bottle.
Typical of the style, the nose pairs sweet agave with vanilla and gentle wood spice, and the palate is round and smooth with a warm finish.
Enjoy it neat, on the rocks or shaken into a reposado margarita; grilled chicken, carnitas and aged cheeses make good partners. A great all-rounder that works as well in a cocktail as it does in a glass on its own.
