Description
Don Q 151 Proof is a high-strength overproof rum from Puerto Rico's Don Q, bottled at 151 proof (75.5% ABV).
Expect a powerful molasses and sugarcane aroma, a fiery, intense palate, and a long, hot finish. It is intended for cocktails rather than neat sipping. At this strength the flavor is intense and the spirit hits hard, which makes it a bartender's tool for tiki drinks and punches.
Use it sparingly in tiki drinks and punches. Handle with care and keep away from open flame. Measure carefully and pair it with plenty of juice, ice and lime. Overproof spirits are best treated as a cocktail ingredient, so a little goes a long way.
