Description
Duke Founder's Reserve is a bourbon bottled at 750ml. It is a small-production style intended for sipping.
As is typical of Kentucky-style bourbon, expect caramel, vanilla and toasted oak on the nose, with brown sugar, baking spice and a touch of dried fruit on the palate, and a warm, lingering finish. Bourbon must be made from at least 51 percent corn and aged in new charred oak, which is where its sweetness and vanilla character come from.
Serve neat or over a large cube to appreciate the grain and oak, or use it in an Old Fashioned, Manhattan or Whiskey Sour. It pairs well with smoked meats, dark chocolate and aged cheeses.
