Description
GlenDronach 18 Year Old, known as Allardice, is a Highland single malt Scotch matured in Oloroso sherry casks. The distillery is celebrated for its sherry-cask whiskies, and this older expression is a favorite among fans of rich, dark malts. Single malt means the whisky comes from a single distillery and is made from malted barley in pot stills, so each bottle reflects its distillery's house style.
The nose is deep and sweet, with dried fruit, dark chocolate and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, with raisins, fig, treacle and gentle oak, leading to a long, warming finish.
Sip it neat or with a few drops of water after dinner. It pairs well with dark chocolate and rich desserts.
