Description
Godet Excellence XO is a cognac from the Godet house with a 20-year age statement.
A long-aged XO like this typically shows dried fruit, honey, toasted oak and warm spice with a silky finish. Cognac is double-distilled in copper pot stills and aged in French oak, which gives it the fruit-forward, floral character that sets it apart from other brandies. Grade matters: VS is aged at least two years, VSOP at least four and XO at least ten, so older grades are generally richer and more layered.
Sip neat in a tulip glass, or over a single large ice cube. A tulip-shaped glass concentrates the aromas, and a few drops of water can open up the nose.
