Description
GRW Khvanchkara is a semi-sweet red from Georgia, named for the Khvanchkara appellation in the Racha region. It is traditionally made from Alexandrouli and Mujuretuli grapes. Sweet red wines have a long tradition as dessert wines and as easy sippers, valued for their ripe fruit character and soft texture.
Khvanchkara is known for ripe raspberry, cherry and pomegranate fruit, a floral lift and a soft, gently sweet finish.
Serve slightly cooled, around 55-60°F, with grilled meats, soft cheeses or fruit desserts. Its sweetness also makes it a welcome option for those who find drier reds too tannic.
