Description
Hennessy VSOP (Privilège) is a cognac from Hennessy, blended from eaux-de-vie aged in French oak and made in a rounder, richer style than the VS. The 200ml bottle is a compact size that is easy to carry and good for trying it out.
Expect a smooth, well-balanced profile of vanilla, toasted oak and candied fruit, with warm spice and a long finish. Cognac is double-distilled in copper pot stills and aged in French oak, which gives it the fruit-forward, floral character that sets it apart from other brandies. Grade matters: VS is aged at least two years, VSOP at least four and XO at least ten, so older grades are generally richer and more layered.
Serve neat, over ice, or in a classic cognac cocktail such as a Sidecar or Vieux Carré.
