Description
Jefferson's Ocean is a bourbon that is aged at sea. Barrels travel aboard ships around the world, where the constant motion, temperature changes and salty air increase the interaction between the whiskey and the oak, giving each release its own distinct character.
Expect classic bourbon notes of caramel, vanilla and toasted oak with a mellower, rounder profile and some subtle maritime character. Exact flavors can vary by voyage. Bourbon is made from at least 51 percent corn and matured in new charred oak, which is where much of the vanilla, caramel and toasted wood character comes from.
Sip it neat to appreciate the details, or with one large ice cube. It is a good talking-point bottle for bourbon fans. A splash of water or a single large cube can open up the aromas, and it pairs well with barbecue, smoked meats, aged cheddar or dark chocolate.
