Description
Jefferson's Presidential Select 16 Year is a limited, allocated bourbon drawn from the brand's oldest and rarest stocks. At 16 years old, it is one of the more mature expressions in the Jefferson's range.
Long maturation tends to bring deep caramel, toasted oak, dark fruit and baking spice, with a warm, lingering finish and a softer, more polished texture than younger bourbons. Bourbon is made from at least 51 percent corn and matured in new charred oak, which is where much of the vanilla, caramel and toasted wood character comes from.
Best sipped neat or with a single drop of water. It is a collector's pour and a notable gift for dedicated bourbon fans. A splash of water or a single large cube can open up the aromas, and it pairs well with barbecue, smoked meats, aged cheddar or dark chocolate.
