Expect light malt, gentle vanilla, a touch of oak and a hint of smoke, with a smooth, easygoing finish. This description reflects the typical blended Scotch style. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Enjoy it neat, over ice, with soda water, or in a Rob Roy or Rusty Nail. The larger size is well suited to entertaining. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
