Description
John Barr Reserve is a blended Scotch whisky, a combination of malt and grain whiskies made to be smooth and balanced.
Expect light malt, gentle vanilla, a touch of oak and a hint of smoke, with a mellow finish. This description reflects the typical blended Scotch style. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Serve it neat, over ice, with soda water, or mixed into a Rob Roy or Rusty Nail. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
