Description
Kavalan Ex-Bourbon Oak is a single malt whisky from Kavalan in Taiwan, matured in casks that previously held bourbon. Taiwan's subtropical climate speeds up maturation and gives Kavalan whiskies a rich, fruity depth.
Expect fresh oak and vanilla on the nose, with tropical fruit such as pineapple, banana and candied citrus on the palate, plus mild spice and a smooth, round finish. Whisky styles vary widely around the world, and each region's climate, grain and cask choices shape the flavor in its own way.
Sip it neat or with a few drops of water. A good bottle for exploring world single malts. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, nuts or aged cheese.
