Description
Kentucky Owl Takumi is a limited blend of Kentucky straight bourbons. The name draws on the Japanese word for an artisan or craftsman.
The palate opens with rye bread spice and a full-bodied, rounded texture, leading to a flavorful and long finish. Bourbon is made from at least 51 percent corn and matured in new charred oak, which is where much of the vanilla, caramel and toasted wood character comes from.
Sip it neat or with a drop of water. It is a good pour for collectors who want something beyond the standard bourbon range. A splash of water or a single large cube can open up the aromas, and it pairs well with barbecue, smoked meats, aged cheddar or dark chocolate.
