Description
Lagavulin Distillers Edition is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky that is finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The sweet sherry finish layers rich fruit over Lagavulin's signature peat smoke.
Expect smoke, dried fruit, dark chocolate and raisin, with a sweet, rounded finish that still carries a smoky edge. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Sip it neat or with a drop of water. It is a good choice for peat lovers who like a touch of sweetness. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
