Description
Ledaig is the peated single malt made at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, offering a maritime, smoky counterpart to the distillery's unpeated Tobermory whiskies. At 19 years old, the peat smoke has softened and blended with the spirit's coastal character.
Expect maritime peat smoke on the nose, brine and dried fruit on the palate, and a long, smoky, coastal finish. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Sip it neat or with a drop of water. It is a distinctive choice for fans of peated Scotch. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
