Description
Loch Lomond 12 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Loch Lomond, a distillery known for producing a wide range of styles. Three types of barrel are used in the maturation: American ex-bourbon, refill and new oak. This version comes in a gift presentation.
It has a silky, creamy taste with fresh tones of vanilla, apples and biscuits. It is bottled at 46 percent ABV without chill filtration. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Sip it neat or with a few drops of water. The presentation packaging makes it a good choice for gifting. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
