Description
Longrow 114 Proof is a heavily peated Campbeltown single malt from the Springbank distillery, which makes Longrow as its peated style alongside Springbank and Hazelburn. It is matured in refill casks and bottled at 57% ABV, or 114 proof, so the peat and brine arrive at full volume.
The nose shows campfire smoke, brine-soaked driftwood and salted caramel. The palate is oily and bold, with smoky peat and sea salt, and the finish is long and savory.
Sip it neat, and add a splash of water if you want to tame the strength. It is an excellent choice for peat fans who want something more complex than the usual Islay style, and it rewards a slow pour in a tulip glass.
