Description
Lunazul Blanco is a 100% blue agave tequila from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled here in a generous 1L size for parties and busy home bars. It is an approachable, fairly priced blanco that keeps the spotlight on fresh agave.
Unaged and bottled for clarity, a blanco puts raw agave front and center. Typical of the style, expect cooked-agave sweetness on the nose, bright citrus and a touch of black pepper on the palate, and a clean, crisp finish. It is light-bodied and unoaked, so the agave itself does the talking, with a peppery, mineral edge that stands up well to lime and salt.
Pour it over ice with a squeeze of lime, shake it into a margarita or paloma, or sip it neat in a small glass. Blancos also pair nicely with ceviche, fish tacos, guacamole and anything with fresh citrus or chiles.
