Description
M&R Asti Spumante is a sweet sparkling wine from the Asti region of Piedmont, Italy, made by Martini & Rossi. It is shown here in a 375ml half bottle, a good size for two glasses.
The steep, sun-drenched hills of Asti are a fine home for Moscato, and this wine shows a beautiful fragrance of white flowers and ripe peach with a cool, fresh sweetness and a low alcohol content. Like most sweet sparklers, it is meant to be enjoyed young and well chilled, when the fruit is at its most fragrant and the bubbles lift the sweetness so the finish stays fresh.
Serve well chilled with fruit, light desserts or soft cheeses, or enjoy it on its own as a gentle after-dinner sparkler.
