Description
Macallan is one of Speyside's most celebrated distilleries, known for its sherry-seasoned oak casks. The 10 Year Old expression is a more accessible way into the Macallan house style.
Expect dried fruit and vanilla on the nose, sherry oak sweetness and spice on the palate, and a smooth, warming finish. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Sip it neat or with a few drops of water. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
