Description
The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old is matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, giving it a balance of sweetness and spice.
Expect a golden, honeyed profile with vanilla, ginger and dried fruit, along with a hint of citrus and a long, sweet finish. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Sip it neat or with a few drops of water. It is one of the most popular expressions in the Macallan range. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
