Description
The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain. It is the entry point to the Sherry Oak range, with a natural color that comes from the casks rather than from added coloring.
The nose offers rich dried fruit, ginger and wood spice with a hint of orange. The palate is smooth and full, with raisins, vanilla and cinnamon, and the finish is warm and long with a gentle oakiness.
It is lovely neat in a tulip glass, and a small splash of water will bring out the fruit. It also makes a dependable gift for whisky drinkers. Bring it out for a quiet evening or a casual tasting with friends.
