Description
The Macallan Classic Cut is a limited annual release that is matured in a mix of ex-bourbon American oak and sherry-seasoned European oak casks. It is bottled at 50.3 percent ABV, and it is naturally colored.
Expect fresh pear and almond biscotti, with citrus, vanilla and gentle spice, and a smooth finish. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Sip it neat or with a few drops of water. It is a collector's favorite from the annual release series. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
