Description
Meerendal Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 comes from Meerendal, a wine estate in South Africa's Durbanville region, and is a mature-vintage red offered in a standard 750ml bottle. The standard 750ml bottle is a convenient size for sharing at dinner.
Cabernet Sauvignon is typically full-bodied, with blackcurrant, dark plum and cedar on the nose, firm tannins on the palate and a long, structured finish. Exact style varies with oak and ripeness, but dark fruit and a touch of spice usually lead. Because style and oak treatment vary by producer, the exact balance of fruit, spice and tannin may differ from bottle to bottle, but the overall impression should be a friendly, food-oriented red.
Serve at cool room temperature, around 60 to 65 degrees F, with grilled steak, lamb, burgers or aged hard cheeses. It is also a good bottle to bring to a dinner or a holiday table.
