Octomore 13.1 is a limited release from Bruichladdich on Islay, part of the Octomore series that is among the most heavily peated whiskies in the world. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks, which lets the barley and smoke show through with surprising elegance.
Heavily peated Islay malts typically deliver bold peat smoke, brine and sweet malt, with vanilla, citrus and a long, smoky finish. Individual bottlings vary, so treat these notes as typical of the style rather than a precise tasting profile for this bottle.
