Description
Old Monk 7 Year is a dark Indian rum, a cult favorite aged in oak, with a distinctive rich character.
Expect a strong hit of molasses, caramel and roasted coffee beans on the nose, with chocolate and vanilla on a smooth, full-bodied palate, and a warm, sweet finish. Extended barrel aging typically rounds off the rough edges of rum and layers in baking spice, caramel and toasted wood.
It is popular mixed with cola, and equally good neat or over ice. Sip it slowly, with a few drops of water if you like, and pair it with dark chocolate, nuts, or aged cheese.
