Description
Poças 10 Year Tawny Port is a tawny Port from Portugal's Douro Valley, aged for an average of ten years in oak and sold in a decanter-style presentation. The standard 750ml bottle is a convenient size for sharing at dinner.
Tawny Port is aged in wood, developing dried fig, caramel, roasted nuts and warm spice, with a smooth, sweet palate and a long, mellow finish. Longer aging brings more complexity and nuttiness. Because fortified styles are rich and concentrated, a small pour goes a long way, and the flavors keep evolving in the glass.
Serve slightly cool as an after-dinner sip, with nuts, aged cheese or desserts such as crème brûlée. It also makes a fine gift for anyone who enjoys after-dinner drinks.
