Description
Star Hill Farm Wheat Whisky is Maker's Mark's annual wheat whisky project, named for the distillery's historic Star Hill Farm in Loretto, Kentucky. It is not a bourbon, but a separate wheat-driven mash bill, and the 2026 release is the brand's second. It blends malted and unmalted wheat whiskies of seven and eight years and is bottled at cask strength, at 58.2% ABV.
The profile is soft and grain-forward, with notes of baked bread, honey, vanilla and gentle baking spice. Wheat gives it a rounder, creamier character than a typical rye-heavy whiskey, with a warming, lingering finish.
Sip it neat or with a small splash of water to open up the grain. It is a good bottle for comparing against a traditional wheated bourbon.
