Description
Teperberg Essence Merlot is a kosher Israeli red from the winery's Essence range, made from the Merlot grape. Teperberg Winery was founded in Jerusalem in 1870 and is one of Israel's oldest family-run wineries.
Merlot is typically soft and round, with plum, black cherry and a touch of mocha, supple tannins and a smooth, easy-drinking finish. Its gentle tannins and plush fruit make it one of the more approachable red styles, a dependable choice for casual dinners, weeknight meals and shared tables.
Serve at cool room temperature, around 60 to 65 degrees F, alongside grilled meats, roasts or hard cheeses. Open the bottle about thirty minutes before serving so the wine can breathe and the flavors can show.
