Description
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is a Kentucky straight bourbon that is matured twice. After full maturation in a standard charred barrel, the whiskey is moved to a second new barrel that has been deeply toasted and only lightly charred, adding a distinctive layer of flavor.
The second barrel brings out sweet oak, dark caramel, toffee and chocolate notes, with vanilla and a hint of spice on top of Woodford's usual dried fruit and cocoa. The result is richer and rounder than the standard bottling.
Sip it neat or over a large cube. It makes a smooth Old Fashioned or Manhattan, and pairs well with dark chocolate.
