Description
Woodinville Bourbon Rye is a whiskey from Woodinville Whiskey Co. in Washington state. The distillery grows its grain on the Omlin Family farm in Quincy and ages its whiskey in barrels made from staves that are air-seasoned for eighteen months before being toasted and heavily charred.
That slow seasoning softens the harsh tannins in the wood, and the extreme temperature swings of central Washington speed the exchange between whiskey and oak. Expect spice, caramel, vanilla and a touch of oak, with a long, warming finish.
Serve it neat or over a large cube, or use it in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned.
