Description
El Tesoro Añejo is a traditionally made tequila from the Camarena family, who established the La Altena distillery in 1937 under Don Felipe Camarena. It is crushed with a volcanic-stone tahona, a method few producers still use, to bring out deep agave character.
Expect zesty fresh herbs and jalapeño on the nose and palate, with coconut and cooked agave anchoring each sip, and echoes of sage, thyme and a hint of smoke. The oak adds a rounded, savory depth.
Sip it neat or over a large cube, and try it in a tequila old fashioned.
Keep the bottle upright and away from direct sunlight to preserve its flavor.
