Description
Kavalan Distillery Select is a single malt whisky from Kavalan in Taiwan. The subtropical climate speeds up maturation, which allows Kavalan to produce whiskies with depth and flavor at a younger age than in Scotland.
Expect ripe tropical fruit, vanilla and soft oak, with gentle spice and a smooth, rounded finish. This description reflects the typical Kavalan house style. Whisky styles vary widely around the world, and each region's climate, grain and cask choices shape the flavor in its own way.
Sip it neat or with a few drops of water. It is a good introduction to Taiwanese single malt. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, nuts or aged cheese.
